Ohio and the surrounding region have a rich history of cryptid lore! One of the most famous is Mothman, a winged, red-eyed entity first spotted in the 1960s in Point Pleasant, West Virginia and even in parts of southern Ohio. Then, there’s Bessie, the Lake Erie Monster, an enormous serpent-like creature that has been sighted in the lake for over a century. And, of course, we can’t forget Bigfoot, the most legendary cryptid of all, with sightings all across the country—including right here in Ohio’s forests!

Hosting CryptidCon here in Chardon Square is not just about celebrating the unknown—it’s about bringing people together and boosting our local businesses.
