Description
According to the National Survey on Drug Use and Health released by SAMHSA (Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services) in January 2023, nearly 1 in 4 adults experienced a mental illness in the past year. In 2020, 40.3 million Americans, aged 12 or older, acknowledged they had a substance use disorder in the past year. This training will help participants gain a strong knowledge base of prevalence rates, risk factors, and characteristics or behaviors of a person who may need professional help. Ways to access help, and how to understand treatment and recovery will be included in the discussion.
