Explorer Series with the Foundation for Geauga Parks

Formerly Sunnybrook Farms Nursery, this 73 acre tract of woodland came to the Geauga Park District from horticulturists Peter and Jean Ruh. Trails traverse the pleasingly rolling topography graced with mature woodlands, conifer stands and wetlands including vernal pools and a fen, a geologically-influenced wetland harboring an assemblage of rare plants. The park also features a tributary of the East Branch of the Chagrin River which has recently undergone anti-erosional restoration work to maintain its high quality cold water habitat for uncommon native fish species of the dace family.
